Flags and umbul-umbul: what is the difference?
A flag is rectangular and mounted horizontally along one edge, usually on a fixed pole or a wall bracket. An umbul-umbul is a tall vertical banner, mounted along its top edge on a flexible pole, and designed to be seen from a distance along a street or around an event site. Umbul-umbul are typically printed on lighter fabric because they need to move in the wind; flags are usually made from a heavier material so they hang properly and last longer outdoors.
